just a quick question. say your monk is past level 15, which grants him +3 to his fists. now you get the gauntlets of crushing (which are +4 to hand to hand damage), does this make his fists +7 now? As in can i now hit creatures that require +5 to hit?.......... tho i cant think of any monsters that require that. (kangaax? or is he need +4?) anyway, are my fists now +7 with those gauntlets is my question.

I'm not sure, as I have never gotten the Gauntlets with a Monk, but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. The Gauntlets set the fists to a +4, not add on to your already magnificent bonus.

aren't the gloves only good for +1 thaco and +3 damage or something? Sorry, I can't remember right now...

You get another +4 to-hit and to-damage, but your fists are still considered +3 weapons for the perpose of ability to hit something. So no, monks in SoA are extremely unlikely to solo kangaxx. After installing ToB at some point your fists become +4 weapons.
