Drow and Deep Gnomes suffer a blow to their leveling capabilities. Drow level up 2 levels behind humans, and Deep Gnomes level up 3 levels behind. That being said, there is a glitch where the deep gnome starts with a further penalty to xp (you should all start at 1000 away from level 2). Use Dalekeeper2 to remedy this with the appropriate amount of xp (IIRC 4000 to 9000).

I can't find where to change the lvl requirement in Dalekeeper2?

Not the level requirement, just the xp. But you have no svirfneblin in your party, so don't go cheating now.

Oh, I thought you said that they should be 1000 for each?

Oops, read it wrong. You have a NORMAL gnome in your party. I'm used to deep gnomes.

All classes start out needing 1000 xp to get to level 2. Your drow have extra experience at the beginning to make sure they fit this requirment. A normal gnome will start with 0 xp, while drow will start with a few thousand.

Ok, that makes sense, since the Drow started with 5K exp.

Ok, I'm able to lvl up now. Do I take a lvl of Cleric for the Paladins or just leave them alone? And what about the Rogue?

Tough call. As you have seen, BoB and I disagree with this, so you will have to decide based on your playing style.

My suggestion would be to (using a female drow, since a male's favored class is mage) dual the paladin over to cleric at level 2, then go all the way with cleric. Lathander clerics are probably the best IMHO.

BoB's suggestion is to give the rogue plenty of points in the Use Magical Device skill, which will allow the rogue to use priest spell scrolls. You will not have as powerful a cleric if you try to do this (like using a BG2 rogue as a mage), but you will have all the more melee power with 3 paladins.

Pick either option.

Hummm.. so if I switch the Paladins to Cleric and keep them there, they will never be as good with fighting. And if I give the Rogue the ability to use scrolls etc then.. what? I guess that's ok. Will the Paladins get an exp penalty for not continuing in that class though?

If the drow is female, then their favored class is cleric and they wont get an xp penalty (you are allowed 1 class other than favored). She wont be quite as good a tank as the other paladins, but she will still be formidable. Check out the to hit tables in the manual, and you will see that clerics are almost as powerful fighters as other warrior classes.
