I'm delighted to say I've just finished the game soloing a multi class thief mage hurrah for me.

I have to admit though that I avoided things like illithids and other tough monsters at all costs and took the easy route through everything. And it was still bloody hard.

Just a few minutes ago I was discussing with a friend about if solo career thief/mage is possible? I though that even a fighter/thief/mage is impossibly hard but if you did it, bravo!

How did u survived twisted rune?

Basically it took me ages.....had to carefully pick my spells obviously but essentially lots of invisibility, monster summoning, contingencies and spell triggers set up before EVERY single battle, and protective spells and like you say lots of backstabbing (and ahem reloading).

I found it really helps if you choose the quests in the right order too i.e do the murders in the bridge district, the illitium quest, the circus first so you get up levels before tackling the real nasty stuff like the beholder cult quest-which I did most of as an invisible character.

You also have to hoard items for when they come in most handy or you are completely buggered. I think it took me about 220 days to complete the game but I didn't do the twisted rune-I killed them all but shangalar then my pro vs magic ran out and I got imprisoned (doh) so I gave up.

Did get the ring of gaxx though-how proud was I?? lol

I played the first dungeon with solo character fighter/thief/mage. It was interesting but then I get a little bored because you dont have any npcs. But the challenging side of solo is great and exciting. But I think I'll play with a full-girl party with my 23 cha bard mazzy Imo Aerie Jaheira Viky fun

one more thing,
solo career has an advantage. You dont need 10 radius spells because you're single
