I am affraid the Devs might start being like the Jazz in the NBA (Or St.Louis if you dont want to stray from the NHL) they always make the playoffs but can never follow through completly. I dont know, I just seem them heading down that road, hopefully not.

BTW, thanks for getting rid of Chris Drury! That guy always killed us in the playoffs. Now the Wings will definitely take the Avs in the playoffs. edit: You know Cyril, as a University of Michigan alum, I hate the Badgers. So boo! Boo those Badgers! And we will give your football team a beating this Saturday too. [ 11-15-2002, 02:06 AM: Message edited by: Lord Starshadow ] |

I am so glad Dury is out of there. He had so many clutch goals last year. But I have to raise the question, why did the trade him? It was kind of a bad trade if you ask me. Whod they get in returen? Morris? A decent player but no where near Durys caliber.

I agree, Iron Ranger. Derek Morris is a good offensive defenseman, but I can't believe that they gave up Drury. The man was Mr. Clutch all year for them. Why would you give that up? Makes no sense to me. But I'm thankful all the same.

I have no idea why we got rid of Drury. As has already been stated by others, he pulled our arses out of the fire numerous times. The closest I've seen to a reasonable answer is that we (the Avs) knew of the new rules coming out that would make the rough & tumble defensemen less effective, so we went for a talented and skilled defenseman -- Morris. The thought was that we already had skilled forwards that could do the job, and we would need better D to have a good chance for regaining the Cup (after all, good D played a huge part in getting us the last one -- thank you, Ray Bourque!). I like the way Radim Vrbata has stepped up to try to fill the void left by Drury.
In Reply To Iron_Ranger: Bummer. We get to see it in Colorado, on our FoxSportsNetwork channel. We played Abischeir last night (and won) so Roy would be rested for our battle in Dallas tonight. [ 11-15-2002, 04:13 PM: Message edited by: Ace of Spades ]

Whoops, my bad. I just checked my schedule, and it's not covered by Fox. Our local cable TV company -- Adelphia -- is carrying this game. Too bad for the 'dish owners...
