Well, the Israel/Palestine conflict certainly seems to be getting the most media coverage at the moment. On the surface it seems to be a clear-cut case of monotheism clash, in addition to the age-old war-causers: land/territory/pride/revenge/power struggles. But then, nothing is clean cut when you delve into it and experience it for yourself is it?
To be honest I've never travelled to that part of the World (The 'Middle-East'), and more than likely I never will. But from what gets spoon-fed to us on TV, the whole snowball of violence is so well and truly rolling that there won't be any resolution anytime soon. It's a shame when so many humans get so crazy.

I'm from New Zealand, and our National Cricket Team was recently touring Pakistan. They called the tour off when a suicide bomber almost killed the team as they were leaving thir hotel. It just doesn't make sense. But then, I come from a secluded Pacific Nation where there is plenty for everyone and open war hasn't been fought for well over a century.

Except that would just throw another log on the inferno. I get what you mean though, if only the world were rid of assholes. It's just that the house of cards is set up in such a way that if one card is pulled out (Ie: Saddam/Sharon/Arafat) the whole thing comes down.

Good point. There isn't much admirable to say about Saddam, at least not from what I've seen on TV and read in the paper. Of course I could just be brainwashed by UN propaganda. But then, I don't like George Bush much either , based on similar information and prejudice

no,un propaganda would just lead you to think saddam is just a little wayward waif who would turn out alright if he would just play nice.which is more proof of the incompetence of the un.
