Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone, October 6, 2007
LOL hope you got that packing done in time Amber! I guess our game Thursday slowed yall down a bit. Don't feel guilty. ..
Weather went from hot to chilly fairly quick the past few days. Now instead of the 90's, the highs are in the 60s! Went from shorts to long sleeves overnight LOL. Just ordered a few jacket dresses online tonight, so I have fancy stuff to wear for my upcoming interviews for jobs. Gah I haven't interviewed in almost 19 years, and gah I hate wearing dresses! I still don't know exactly how my boss is faring in the hospital. Sounds like he is going steady, maybe getting better slowly. But he's got so many things wrong with him right now, I just can't see him returning to the office again. Got my resume made up. Then I find out that a cover letter is something very valued and a MUST to go with said resume. Blah, I hate stuff like that, i.e., making up letters using the fanciest words you can think of to bullshit and pimp yourself out. Either way, I did it so now I'm good to go. Just not sure when to pound out my resume to anyone and everyone. Apparently my boss has said he doesn't want me to go. Thing is, I haven't seen him lately in the hospital. Sooo, it's like, is he strongly sitting there in bed and saying "oh, no I'm not ready to close the office, and No I don't want Wendy to leave!", or if it's some situation where he's laying there semi-concious, and his wife is saying to him "Dear, Wendy called and said she is getting her resume ready to leave!" and he mumbles "No I don't want her to go", while perhaps he thinks how Nixen shouldn't be the current president, or something like that. In other words, how is his mental state? I'm gonna go visit him again next week and hopefully maybe get more of a perspective on how he is doing and progressing, and what I need to be doing. Man this is so hard. I really love my boss and my job after almost 19 years working there. But I' could be passing up other job opportunities that I see online and in papers right now, wondering and waiting. I just don't want to linger until, like, Christmas time. I bet there is NO finding jobs during that time. Man, it sucks too, cause I usually get an extra entire paycheck each Christmas as a bonus. Really could have used that. I'm sure when I start at a new place I'll be starting over so have nothing re leave time or Christmas bonus worthy. Not fair wahh LOL. Just hope that wherever I end up, it 's with nice people. Please Lord let me work with nice people, cause I'm nice to others, rather than dealing with jerks and angry attys. You know, growing up, I never lived in any house for many years, my parents moved a lot. To me, a person's work is similar to their house, as we spend as much time at work that we do at home (not counting sleeping time at home). So to work at a place for almost 19 years is unique. It's like me quitting smoking after smoking for 23 years. I haven't had to quit anything that long standing until now, and again, with my job. It's sad and the building (which is a house) that I have worked in for ages...I am so attached to. It's like a safe haven for me. I'm going to feel so vulnerable without it. Blah, I've gotten to venting again, sorry about that. I just need a place to vent crap like this right now, cause it's just insane on my mind all the time right now. |

Sounds like I've had to do what you have LadyZ, but for Uni not jobs. "Over-extending" the truth to make it sound like YOU ARE the best person IN THE WORLD for this job/course.
That all got sent off though. Got my application sent back to me by my college 'cos I forgot this stupid "General Studies" examination which only a handful of universities accept. You don't even revise for the exam, it's just general questions and your views. All I've done all weekend is work, which has sucked big style. All I'm doing next weekend is...working. And the weekend after that, and after that, and after that so on and so forth until Christmas, I guess.

Heh, mainly Portsmouth, as it and Brighton are the only places in the country that do a paeleobiology course (so I believe). And Brighton is too far away (I want to stay within three hours away from here, for various reasons). So I'm going for there mostly.
