Well, i've heard of this before, but it comes as a surprise nonetheless.... my little birdie layed an egg.

It has to be an empty shell though, since it's been alone in it's cage ever since i bought it. But what am i supposed to do now ? I assume i can't clean out the cage for a while, since it's mother's instincts took over and it attacks everything that comes anywhere near the cage ?

Anyone have any experience with something like this ?

That would cost me a finger, the bird is on DEFCON 4 or something, it will take master thievingskills to go anywhere near the cage unnoticed.

Besides, it's not a friggin Ostridge, it's a lovebird. Not much nutrition from such a tiny egg.

Prolly infertile, like a chicken's egg when the rooster is falling down on the job. Can't you sedate the bird? Where's Epona when you need her?

My grandparents had a cockatiel that lived by itself, and it laid about one egg a year...generally, they'd wait for it to to calm down a bit before removing the egg...I don't know about the cleaning bit, though...

Well, a potion of Master Thievery or two should do the job. I think I've seen one on eBay.

I suggest you put a cat near the cage and watch the laughs

Don't you mean have a laugh?

The eggs are probably infertile johnny. You'll probably need a male bird to fertilize the eggs if you want them to hatch I think.
