Mouse, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I would have thought this was the way it should be ("community ownership" of a post), but I had not gotten that impression from the Rules & Regs. And, I just checked again and I must say it's not obvious. So, I assumed because we *could* delete our own posts and there were no posted rules to the contrary, it was allowed. Won't happen again.

I'll reiterate that the cage-rattling should be toned down on this issue, though. Regardless of whether or not there's proof of anything (which you were quite correct to point out).

back on topic, i despise this ratting on your neighbour kind of thing. it seems so... i dont know, so low, so lame. imagine the cops coming to your house because you have a poster of che guevara. if a neighbour did that to me id kick his ass as he deserves.

Feel free to delete or edit your own posts on any thread. What I was referring to was where the originator of a thread deletes the whole thread, regardless of how many others have participated.

Hope that's clear - carry on with the topic troops

The ACLU is like a hair trigger pistol... prone to go off at the drop of a hat. In this case they're actually pointed at something worth shooting, usually they're pointed at their own foot. (even a bunch of monkeys will write Shakespere given enough chances... lol)

If someone reported something that stopped a bombing, then I'm all for it. I don't think most people would report someone that just expressed a view point, but a threat, now-a-days, is entirely different. We can take no more chances after 9/11.

I know most here find me pretty conservative, but for the most part I think the ACLU serves a pretty important function, though I agree with Magik that they do tend to go and shoot themselves in the foot from time to time. Still, they look out for everyones rights, even us low life gun owners from time to time. They aren't biased (at least most of the time).

i think the fact that having an anti-bush poster makes one a target is ridiculous and i voted for him. however she was not subject to a search, so it was not something worth a search warrant. so it was not illegal, or contraband. a lot of us fear it ahppening again, and a lot of us fear ppl like that one guy who left the u.s. for them. so even tho she was 45 minutes to her date and probably quite upset i can't complain. it was really nothing but an inconvenience, probably brought on by someone who didn't like her not necassarily someone who thought she was a terrorist. the stamp thing was kinda ridiculous.

That has happened on more than one occasion in the past, Cerek.
Her post, her perogative. Rules of the board, friends. Get over it. These oh-so-obvious attempts to rattle her cage should tell you exactly why she deleted it. Everyone has a right to be let alone when they feel like it.
I kind of agree with Timber on this one (geez now Im gonna have to shoot a thousand rounds of ammo to rebalance my karma).

Moni posted that transcript because I asked her too, I had no idae the shitstorm she was gonna get for it. I felt really bad that people beat up on her because she honored her word to me. I thouhgt things got a bit rough. I didn't agree with what she was saying later nor did I disagree with her detractors, but I thought some of you may have been a bit hard on her....But since I can only reach the board from work on Mondays and Tuesdays I could not post.

Encouragement is allowed - in Charlotte, NC, the state ran "report your drug dealer neighbor" billboards that were somewhat successful.

It's the other parts of it that are problematic. I thought about posting this exception in my first reply - guess I should have.
Thanks Timber Loftis, I figured it had to be more to it then the "report your neighbor" stuff, after all a report is not the same as a conviction. I take it from some of your posts you're a lawyer? About all I've heard on the act is from the news and they've mostly focused on the "report your neighbor" part.

Can't say for sure. Moni seemed rather upset at the direction the thread was taking, so I assume it was she who deleted it.
The thread may have been deleted because of my UCFS post, if that was the case I apologize for getting the thread deleted. But in any case I apologize for my abreviated use of the F word in the post.
