Never heard about that, but some times things like that are done due to public health reasons, or to protect indigenous plants from non-native plants...are apples native to england?
Give over dude, course they are. We used to have 57 million varieties, in the old days before standardisation and huge volumes for cost efficiencies. Whether they're native to the US, that I don't know. Maybe the settlers took 'em over?

yes, Silver Cheetah. Here in the USA, it's GE - > Genetically Enhanced Just a marketing ploy to make it seem better for us.
Hehe, like your style, RudeDawg!

Yep, apples were brought over into the USA by the settlers. Not native to the American continents at all.

Thanks.

It's similar to the marketing idea for irradiated foods. They use a flower on the label to represent radiation-bombarded food. Yeah, when I'm thinking of radiation, flowers come to mind.

I am a proud carnivore. I eat meat often, and as rare as possible.

The book is about the food processing industry. If you ever find out about what happens in many of the world's largest food processing factories, you'd avoid their products, too.

I won't go into detail, but I know that I did several times during the reading of it, and similar books.
Well I'm 41 and look about 12 - a veggie for ooh, ever so long. Go figure!!

And nothing wrong with meat in its natural form, - but what the farming and meat industry do to meat these days, well, if I was a meat eater, I'd want to be informed. Or maybe not. Ignorance can be bliss, they say..
