(...it's an age thing...you youngun's wouldn't understand...)

Know anyone like this?

This is how it goes:
I decide to wash the car, I start toward the garage and notice the mail on the table. OK, I'm going to wash the car...

...but first I'm going to go through the mail.

I lay the car keys down on the desk, discard the junk mail and I notice the trash can is full.

OK, I'll just put the bills on my desk and take the trash can out, but since I'm going to be near the mailbox anyway, I'll pay these few bills first.
....Now where is my checkbook?

Oops...there's only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk.

Oh, there's the coke I was drinking. I'm going to look for those checks...

...But first I need to put my coke further away from the computer, oh maybe I'll pop it into the fridge to keep it cold for a while...

I head towards the kitchen and my flowers catch my eye, they need some water...I set the coke on the counter and uh oh! There's my glasses...I was looking for them all morning! I'd better put them away first.

I fill a container with water and head for the flower pots--Aaaaaagh! Someone left the TV remote in the kitchen. We'll never think to look in the kitchen tonight when we want to watch television so I'd better put it back in the family room where it belongs.

I splash some water into the pots and onto the floor, I throw the remote onto a soft cushion on the sofa and I head back down the hall trying to figure out what it was I was going to do!!??!!

End of Day: The car isn't washed,
the bills are unpaid,
the coke is sitting on the kitchen counter,
the flowers are half watered,
the checkbook still only has one check in it
...and I can't seem to find my car keys!

When I try to figure out how come nothing got done today, I'm baffled because:

I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY LONG!!!

I realize this is a serious condition and I'd get help,
..but first I think I'll check my e-mail...

Here's another one the youngsters won't understand

YOU'RE OVER THE HILL WHEN.....

You're asleep, but others worry that you're dead.

You can live without sex but not without glasses.

Your back goes out more than you do.

You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.

You buy a compass for the dash of your car.

You are proud of your lawn mower.

Your best friend is dating someone half their age-and isn't breaking the law.

Your arms are almost too short to read the newspaper.

You sing along with the elevator music.

You would rather go to work than stay home sick.

You constantly talk about the price of gasoline.

You enjoy hearing about other people's operations.

You consider coffee one of the most important things in life.

You make an appointment to see the dentist.

You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

Neighbors borrow your tools.

People call at 9 p.m. and ask, "Did I wake you ?"

You have a dream about prunes.

You answer a question with, "because I said so!"

The end of your tie doesn't come anywhere near the top of your pants.

You take a metal detector to the beach.

You wear black socks with sandals.

You know what the word "equity" means.

You can't remember the last time you laid on the floor to watch television.

Your ears are hairier than your head.

You talk about "good grass" and you're referring to someone's lawn.

You get into a heated argument about pension plans.

You got cable for the weather channel.

You can go bowling without drinking.

You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.

ROFL. Glad to hear it's not just me. The other day, I left my car running outside of my house for two hours. I just popped in the house to let my ex come over and use the computer. I was supposed to go pick up a friend who was locked out. She called my cell phone (front seat of the car) eleven times. She thought I blew her off and she left a bunch of *not too nice* messages. I finally remembered and rushed outside. The drivers door was wide open, radio on, and my cell phone was ringing. Amazing nobody came by and took anything. The car included.

I've done that so many times, I have about five sets stashed about. (My best friend has a set of my car keys and house keys.)
