And to Horatio, I know that the General Discussion forum is a much better place to be discussing this, but since the clan of Aerie lovers is based on the NPC from BG2, Ziroc is being very generous in permitting limited use of the space here in BG2 forum for our temple thread. The temple and its members are those that pay tribute to Aerie. Those that are against her should be members of the HADB, an evil aligned clan that are opposers of good aligned chars. The only other operational clan is Laughing Hyenas, that is a general membership clan, if you are humorous. Eventually, these clans will become parties that play online games like Never Winter Nights.
You join a clan, by choosing who offers you the most fun, and from there, just announce it on an appropriate thread. Somebody will pick you up from there.

The OHF is non-functional and has been put on freeze at the moment.
There is another, that just started, that has something to do with illumination.
The general discussion forum is the only place that one is found.
So, there are only three real clans at the moment.

Didn't we start before the Illuminati? I believe so...
I believe the clans have been summed up quite well. The ALSB (join today! ) is a clan for Aerie fans, to a lesser extent also Nalia and Jaheira (we like Imoen too, I believe). Avatar is the leader, but as he's away right now Larry_OHF, waverider and me are taking care of things. HADB is mostly evil, but has some neutral and good. It is about... controlling the world? Being evil overlords? Ask Azurewolf, he's the leader or so I believe. The LH are a bard-clan, led by Yorick (I think). I don't know the alignment, at least they're not interested in taking over the world, just in...being bards and telling jokes, I guess. The OHF are the original clan, most of the Ancients are in it. You can't join without being asked, as Rikard told you. It is good(?) alignment, led by Ertai and Rikard.
I have no idea about the Illuminati, save that it is led by Dio.
