1 thing I did not work out in BG1...

After you have met up with the THIEF outside of his little stronghold
He says he will make the grandest of hiests only the place is protected by FLESH GOLEMS....
After having slain everyone including THALANTYR....I did not discover any hidden treasure in any of the alcoves or whatever....
I believe it had something to do with the large crystal in the centre but was unable to ACTIVATE IT in order to get the TREASURE???
Anyway I could be off the track there right?
Any ideas anybody?

THANKS

Umm... I don't know how to break it to you, but the only thing to be gained by knocking off the wizard and his golems is a small load of exp. Something of which there is no shortage in BG1. But, yeah, you just killed a guy cuz of a thief's rumor. Don't take it too hard, just roleplay it.

IMO you should have kept Thalantyr alive. He is selling some good stuf for mages and is also involved in a quest. The golems on the other hand, they could easily be exchanged for XP

But that is the opinion from a power player, not a pure role player.

I think u've both missed me point tho....
I know both about the SIDE QUEST and also being able to get heaps of good stuff from him!
The thiefs rumour must of had some sort of significance...
as it was recorded right into your JOURNAL straight after (Your JOURNAL has just been updated) seems to imply that there was some sort of side quest or hidden treasure within unless your saying I am mistaken?
What gave me this impression at first was on the back of the box that u would of bought the game in shows the crystal in the centre with a some sort of bluish magical lightning going from 1 corner to the next then all meeting up back to the large crystal in the centre again.
So I thought there must of been some way to activate it?

Does anyone know of a walkthru? or site?

the crystal definately doesnt have a quest. There is a quest which involves thantlyr but you cant do it once hes dead (its quite a funny one!) I did keep him alive because he has some cool stuff to buy.

Umm, dude, a journal entry doesn't always mean a quest. Only one quest involving Thalantyr is recorded in any walkthrough I've read, and I've read many, and it does not involve acquiring any kind of treasure. I do know of the thief which you are speaking about and its merely a matter of misinformation.

firestorm there is a thief, hes at the door. But there is no quest with the crystal. i think it is merely there to give effect and show off the powers of thalantyr

It's not a problem. But I take great pleasure in knowing that all Emerald dragons will one day know the horror that is the quintesson avatar
