Proving Grounds Question - spoilerish

I finally got through the proving grounds last night - no easy task for a solo Paladin / COT. When I turned in my 12 stones, I got the xp and gold reward (worthless to me by now) and was promised a item of great worth. I thought I'd be able to get through the 13th door, but it was still locked. I couldn't get to the treasure on either side either. The proving grounds guard wouldn't talk to me again - his dialogue had changed to something about word of my great deed spreading. Am I missing something, or did I get shafted? I was really looking forward to whatever I may find behind the 13th door.

hmmm, usually he'll talk about your great deed, give you a reward item, and try to close out the dialog, you have to ask him about the key. I've never not asked, so I'm not sure what would happen, but it sounds like that's what happened.

Yup you have to ask him about the key.. The little twit will not just give it to you..

Yeah, he's sneaky that way, what do you want from a Drow??? If he weren't plot, you could probably just kill him, and take the key...Got to be easier than the poison guy...

The problem with the poison guy is his insane regen. That whey my wizard has such an easy time with him as he hits my shields while I blast him with Max IGMS.

I just noticed this morning that not only did I not get the key, but the twit took all my stones, not just the 12 needed. I had 19 in all due to not remembering which cell I hadn't visited. Man, he's a bastard. Please, Z, make him killable.

I think that this is a bug Marathon. Most classes are okay and get a reward but my pure druid just got as far as stating success and asking for his reward then the conversation ended. He gained experience points and lost all stones. I suspect that is the same for paladins. I'll post something about this in the bug thread as well.

Good - I'm glad I wasn't going crazy. I went back with my monk and got the reward, and was thinking there was no way I could have just missed that dialogue option.

I know about that bug now, I'll make sure I fix that in the new update coming in a few days. (New update adds more Tradeway areas and fixes)

Then the update after that is the release of the new Hakpak, and the R.A.T.S (Rapid Access Teleport System)
