I've managed to get a scan of my drawings and scraps, and the problem is they're all in .psd and Photoshop won't let me save them as .jpg(only option is psd). How do I convince Photoshop to give me a break and let me save the frikkin pics as jpeg?

I click file\save and when the prompt appars, I only have the option for PHOTOSHOP *.psd(*.pdd).

Forget about this, guys, because I'm such an idiot. I never tried to really correct the problem by thinking, I just said to myself 'the guys over at IW know this, I don't have time to think now'. Now I've taken a few minutes off and I've been browsing for reasons why id wouldn't save. I flattened teh image. I saved in .jpg. End of story.

I'm such a blithering idiot.

layers layers... if you want to compress the image and still maintain the layers try TIF, otherways just flatten and go.

May I humbly suggest that you in the future use the "save copy as" alternative?

In the previous versions it had this under the File option, in the later versions it is a check box in the save dialouge.

Cheers and good luck with your Photoshoping!
