Wow...I hope this isn't true, but in BGII there is the option to rest until healed. Your group wakes up healed and ready for action. In my current BGI game we rest, but don't get healed! Is that it? How do the folks recover? Time and love??!!

You have to rest at the inns. And even at these places you don't recover all your health. According to the level of the room you get more or less hit points.

You can always rest again and again...

And use healing spells between rest periods. ie rest, use heal spells, repeat.

I believe when you rest you get 1 hit point, same as the cheapest room. Merchant room gives 2 HP, noble give 3 and royal gives 4. And yes, there is no REst untill healed option.

Even in BG2 i dont use that, its a bit cheesy IMHO. In "real" adventures, you wouldnt sleep 4 or 5 days would you ??

Dunno, just my opinion

I most certainly would! Rest up for about 16 hours after getting nearly killed...I don't think that is cheesey or even slightly not dealing with 'real' adventures. When was the last time you hiked with 120 pounds of gear...fought some kubolds, killed a dragon, a couple of vampires - getting badly wounded in the process and then just slept it off! Hellloooooo!
