well ya know a n00b group hasta make money some way or other and the Blonde Brigade has always been of the mind that ya strip down everyone ya kill and sell all their gear. there's a drawback here tho, esp in deep dark scary dungeons. we seem to spend a lot more time schlepping stuff back and forth to town than we do in clearing the dungeon. plus breaking up the thrills we get outta smashing naughty dungeon critters.
so my big question is: if we throw stuff down on the ground, will it hang out in a pile for us to retrieve later on? i'm kinda of the mind that they'll disintegrate, because i've watched stuff fall off a dead monster and disappear before i could finish killing the rest of his group. if it does disappear like that, are the open chests okay to put stuff in? if the chests aren't okay, is there a nifty spell like the OLD OLD PnP games... y'know? that magick, floating carpet thingie that would follow you around while you piled loot on top of it? ok, if there's no flying loot carpet, what do yall do? just leave the loot to disappear? or make tons of trips back and forth like me? thanks! Well, W&W is extraordinarily unfriendly as far as a possibility of storing your items somewhere is concerned. Answers on all your questions are the worst possible
1. Items dropped on the ground: disintegrate sooner or later. I don't know the exact rules. Sometimes the items vanish almost immediately, sometimes you can find them even after returning from a town. But the items always disintegrate in the end. Note: special items, like quest items or keys never disintegrate. 2. You cannot put items in chests in W&W. 3. No inventory support spells are available in W&W. What to do? Play unpatched, generate money in the inn and ignore the loot around. Take only valuable items and items, which you need for your characters. Evil take the rest of loot.

*tears her hair out and looks around wildly*
abandon loot? did i hear you suggest that i abandon loot??? ack!! i think it's physically and psychically impossible for me to leave anything behind! and i patched the game so i wouldn't use the inn gold grab bag. the first time i played this, i was making houses out of gold coins. this time i'ma play patched just to see if i can see any difference. anyways~! it's weird because i haven't had any problems at all playing unpatched. when i patched tho, i started having the weird, spinny-around dance when you try to pick junk... errr... valuable goodies off the ground. my party runs in place when i try to kill things that swarm around us AND when i tag something to open, the party starts spinning around and attempts, in a very sad but sweet retarded manner, to get a hold of it. in other words, i guess i gave myself the very problems the patch was supposeta fix. but that's just a glimpse into my very chaotic life, so it's not anything that bothers me. i do wish i could loot till my lil heart explodes from the effort of lugging it around tho. 1. Oh, well. I understand your feelings. I also have problems with letting an iron dagger be even if I've got mountains of gold everywhere But what can we do? W&W allows only one "adventurer's base" - mules in the inn. Otherwise, it behaves like Duke Nukem: the only storage place for your items is your inventory. Carry everything around all the time, no matter whether you need it right now or not.
2. The crazy dance. It's weird The crazy dance is normal in the unpatched game and, if I've understood well the boasting of the patch, it is removed from the patched game by changing the tracking algorithm ... and pigs will fly, as we can see.

I still get the crazy dance occasionally in the patched game... usually near a tree line, a wall, or the horse, when I try to pick something up. Walking closer usually takes care of it, and I don't recall how much it used to affect me before the patch.
As for inventory, I also suffer from pack rat syndrome (where is he, anyway?). Finishing up Skull Castle was very challenging because my inventory was just about full. The only better answer I can give is that once you get the travel spells (portal, teleport, call home), it becomes much easier to schlepp everything back to town.
