I've just started playing BG2 and was just wondering if there is a way to slow the game down during fights (not pausing) as with 6 party members fighting you get a fair amount of info scrolling past in the text box which I actually like to read
I know I can just keep pausing but it breaks the flow I like to just sit back and watch while sipping a brew and only pausing if its going tits up . |

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!!! (I win!) Ahem, yes there is a way to slow down fights. Go to the BGConfig file(It should be in the startup menu) and reduce framerate from 30 to whatever you want. Obviously, 15 would be 50% speed.

Why don't you just enlarge the text window so that you can follow along easier. I know it cuts into the screen, so I only enlarge it during a fight. I find no trouble at all following it in a larger text box.
