• Were you ever able to load up the game prior to now?
 • Did you tamper with any of the files?
 • Try re-installing.

Hi JOE30303

Sorry to hear that you are having some difficulties. I'm not the techie on this board so I don't have any brilliant suggestions other than this:

Please give a good description of your hardware, OS (XP, I know but home or Pro), version of DirectX and anything else that may make a difference (are you running the game in 98 simulation -stuff like that). Are you running other programs when you try to play the game. There are lots of variables and it helps the real techies on the board figure out where the problem may be. I have yet to see a problem unsolved so be patient, someone who can help you should be along before too long!

Also, what other stuff do you have running in the background? It could be a collision with some other application (IM, virusscan, etc.)

Strange. Could you perhaps try this? Create a completely new game with a new character. Save directly outside the Valeia gate. Exit the game and try to load that saved game a couple of times. If you can't load that one either then we have a problem. If you can load the new game then your saved game (the one you can't load) is probably corrupt. But I have never heard of a corrupt save in W&W.

my kazaa music downloader was active in the backround which i disabled
and it has not happened since but i am not going to worry about it at this time as it does not happen all the time anyway.
by the way have any of you all played arx fatalis yet i am on my second go round with this game and i love it
it has it all
also i know a bit about this game so if anyone has any problems with it (as far as what to do next) i might be the one who can help you this time (what a refreshing change that would be huh)
regards to all

So it was Kazaa then? Perhaps, in any way. Good to know for future problems. Please let us know if this happens again (without Kazaa running).

And yes I have played and completed Arx Fatalis several times. I love that game too.

Hmmm... another knock on Kazaa... Anyway, glad that you seem to have discovered a solution.

I've also played Arx, but not to completion. My vid card doesn't work well enough, and I wasn't able to get things to a playable point. Willow did try to help (thanks ), but I was largely beyond it...

Once I build my next machine (somewhere in the first quarter of the year), I'll be able to go back on it. Until then, though, I've had to leave the world of Arx behind. I did like the spellcasting, though
