My party of 6 L10's + Vi and Saxx are ready to take on Don Barlone and Milano.

At least, I think they are. The gimick with this party is that I did not play any spellcasters -- only 4 hybrids (Human Samurai, Faerie Ninja, Elf Monk, and Human Lord), plus a gadgeteer and a bard.

My basic plan is to stand in the doorway with all buffs up and running, summon an elemental, keep it healthy, healed, etc. and do my best via Insanity and other Mental spells to keep Don Barlone slowed down and busy.

Am I kidding myself, or do I actually have a shot to take him down now? What other things would you want your party to do, assuming no Death Bombs or similar options available?

Hi Tyros,

an easy way to kill the don is to use razor cloaks, best combined with guardian angels. Not having this, a few superman-potions should work as well. The Don is quite resistent to any kind of magic, its better to try to hit him and only use protective and healing spells.
Remember, he doesn't always drop this nice faerie ninja staff...

Good luck at lev 10. Haste would help and lots of healing. Also, he seems to get more deadly towards the end, my opinion. The 2 times I used Elementals they were no help but other people have had more luck. I think you would have trouble taking out the easier Breeders at that level. But you can be creative. Who knows?

I've done it. It's easier to hit the Don with ranged weapons, and Missile Shield makes him miss a lot. Get a few good bows/slings and good ammo...and put Razor Cloak on any Elemental you toss, and get at an angle so you're not hitting the Elemental when you miss the Don.

Stand at the open door and throw 2-3 canned Elementals in there. Then just defend. It's easiest.

The trick to using elementals most effectively is to manuver so that they are on the OTHER SIDE of the enemy (so either your party or the elemental can get 2x damage for attack FROM BEHIND).

I usually stand behind him and lob a concussion powder - it's messy and doesn't work often, but when it does knock him unconscious he's easy pickings for a level 10 party. A good way to get some much needed cash before visiting Crock.
