Re: Work Woes (Maybe you can help?)
Even so, having a negative remarks on one's review is not a good thing. It'll hamper that person when he asking for a raise or even a promotion. Nowadays, some strict employers will call and ask the previous employer about that person's review if that person is looking for a new job.

That is true. However, assuming that Ivellis is excelling in all other aspects of selling and the other tasks of his job, I don't think he'll have much to worry about when asking for raises/getting references. Maybe I'm simply too used to the overheated job market where I am.

Re: Work Woes (Maybe you can help?)
I'm just your bog-standard part time teenage employee. We don't ask for pay rises, we get the standard across the board. It'll only go up maybe once a year by a few pence, or when you get older.
Thankyou all for your help, it really has made a new perspective on things, and I'll just have to do what you say SirG and ask everyone. All I need is a phrase, a way of asking, then I can just say it no matter who they are or what they're buying. Can't get told off as long as I offer, eh?

Re: Work Woes (Maybe you can help?)
How about....
"Your total is £25. Would you like to open a store card today and get £5 back?" Good luck, amigo!

Re: Work Woes (Maybe you can help?)
As simple as bungleau said. I probably would let them know about it before announcing the total of their purchase though. Maybe ask around to friends at work and see what line they use. I'm terrible at the little catch phrases too, to be honest.

Re: Work Woes (Maybe you can help?)
Good point. You could lead in with...
"Do you have one of our store cards to put this on?" Two questions in one... whether they have one, and whether they want to use it.
