That lump that sometimes chokes a person up and renders them unable to speak was there again, causing Larry to strain at getting the words out...

"The ring...is just to protect you...as I have the same desire to keep you from harm.
Just like this ring can protect you from poison, so can I stand in the way of anything aiming to bring you hurt. Please...allow me to be there for you. I ...have nowhere else to go. You...I..ne"

That lump finally won the battle, and Larry could say no more. Try as he might, the words would no longer flow, and he turned his back from Mistral to keep her from seeing his pained, teary eyes.

~She watches his turned back and heaving shoulders, feeling her own tears running down the sides of her cheeks. Hurriedly, she wipes them away and continues ~ "Why must you make things so difficult for me?" ~ Her voice quivers and she stifles her a sob threatening to escape from her lips ~ "I do not mean to offend... or hurt you. I hope that one day, my intentions will pay off..." ~

~ Throwing another glance at Kaz brings another course of tears running down her cheeks. ~ "May Mystra bless the both of you forever." ~ She turns abruptly and begins to walk away... ~

Hoping that Kaz would have some sort of plan, Larry looked suplicantly at her. She was in just as much shock as he was, however, and only trembled as her tears began to flow as well.

Turning back in the direction of a walking away Mistral...the only thing that can escape his mouth are the words..."I will always love you, and be here for you...when you return from your journeys..."

With that, Larry turns and starts to walk in the other direction, yet cannot seem to move...

Kaz was stunned. Why was Mistral leaving? What were the visions? She felt very confused and alone.

Sorry I haven't been posting that much, have been playing a lot of BG2. Just killed that Shadowdragon - yippee! Feeblemind rocks!

~ She halts in her tracks momentarily, and turns to see Larry leaving. Seeing Kaz, she beckons her sister to come forward silently ~

~ "I am so sorry, Kaz. I should never have asked to be your sister, had I known of the dangers ahead... but it is not too late for us to part while you are still safe..." ~ Her voice trails off unsteadily ~ "Larry is a good man. Strong, loyal and affectionate. Let him protect you, and your happiness will be complete...But he can sometimes be too straight...impulsive... you must guide him, too..." ~ At the last words, a sob escapes from her wilfully.

(OOC: Congrats on having a more satisfactory meal and on defeating the shadow dragon, Kaz

Minsc and Jaheira got killed on my second run through the game; I did not put a single trap this time, though, and was rather proud of the achievement. Interestingly, my kensai-mage got the killing blow for both the shadow and red dragon. Nice!

But seriously, is that what you would do? I always thought guys are more action-orientated. At such an emotionally-charged situation, do you really expect to move a girl by words alone? Hmmm...)
