Well...not really. Just on my first vacation in years. I write this sitting in the Grand Hotel - Mediterano - Florence, Italy.

(I just had to rub it in)

Hello macoati!

Have a nice and long and relaxing vacation,
I'm working like crazy to get some money.

I don't have any vacation at summer
But don't forgot to visit in Finland too in your European tour!

I lived with a family there for a few weeks long ago. We were just up the street from the Ponte Viccio.

ENJOY!!

Europe was wonderful...too short...but wondeful. We toured Italy from Rome, to Florence, to Venice, to Asissi, and back to Rome all in 10-11 days depending on which clock you looked at.

Thanks for all the well-wishing...now its time to unload the suitcase and sleep for the first time in a few days.

Is it not always so that one's holiday is always too short.

Too bad you did not have time to see other parts of Europe than just Italy.

Well, 30+ years ago my family lived in Aviano,Italy. We were able then to peruse most of western Europe with the exceptions of Finland and Sweeden. It is very interesting noting my 30+ year old memories of Italy now superimposed upon the new ones. Things really haven't changed much in the area of views or vistas...but there is enough now to make the head spin when remembering the old with the new. I will return and visit all of Europe later in life...when I have more disposable income and time

Oh yes, it would be lovely to have sufficient funds that would enable one to travel a lot. (Sigh). I would not mind that either.
