The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
Go visit most any Game site, and you'll see the scores near 10/10 or 9.4 out of 10.
This game is VERY cool. A deep RPG, and has the detail you'd look for --for instance, when it rains, the towns folk run for cover under overhangs. You can make potions for plants, and tons of other cool stuff. Just started playing. I'll have a review for it when I'm done with it. You DO need a good PC to have all the graphics cranked to the max. Loading times could be better.. An Editor is coming soon--so is a possible 3DS Max plug-in (smiles) muhahaha More soon!

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
Apparently not all is as rosy as you would have us believe.
Game Reviews: Gamespot gave it an 8.2 IGNAu gave it an 8.3 IGN 10/29/2007 8.5 out of 10 Game Informer 12/1/2007 8 out of 10 Jolt Online Gaming UK 11/1/2007 8.2 out of 10 Eurogamer 10/26/2007 7 out of 10 AtomicGamer 11/1/2007 88 out of 100 Strategy Informer 10/30/2007 7.7 out of 10 TotalVideoGames 10/30/2007 8 out of 10 Pelit (Finland) 11/1/2007 88 out of 100 Apparently the first patch is ALREADY being worked on to correct over 200 bugs (!) Sounds familiar? The game is being criticized on some sites for: lousy voice acting, bad translation from the Polish version, uncompleteable or FedEx RR quests, boring NPCs, TERRIBLE load times (unless you have 2 gb RAM). From everything I've read this game - despite the long time in testing - is coming to the marker with a rather extensive set of issues. I'm going to wait on this one.

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
You should try it if you could deal with NWN2, Micah.
Look at the actual PEOPLES ratings too--9.2 and so on... if it sucked, it wouldn't have that score. Those a damn good scores though, and I have not run into any bugs yet. But yep, a patch was out at release--it seems these 'patches on release' are becoming commonplace.... PS: Voice acting isn't bad at all. This could be game of the Year--or second.

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
LOL Actually I do plan on getting it, but I am going to order my copy from AmazonUK. Apparently Atari censored the hell out of the USA release version and the dialogs got hammered and some content got deleted. PRUDES!
I did look at the people scores as well, Z.

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
I know why they THINK they had to censor it! LOL
All I can say is check out the RPGCodex forums and look for the thread about the witcher. Someone has posted some, err, interesting photos of some in-game graphics.

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
Don't forget if its released by Atari it will be sanitized for your protection.. Remember the whole fiasco on Temple of elemental Evil where they cut out all the evil quests and the children because they could be killed as well. I still laugh at the part where they are talking to the grandmother and commenting on how young she is with all the children running around, the room is empty, but the voices are still there. Hopefully then a work around will come for the eddited items like the wonderful community did for ToEE.
( I will get this game, just been really busy and I haven't had the time yet to go to the store)

Re: The Witcher is getting awesome ratings..
Yet why does Europe get these unedited versions but the country that stands for liberty doesn't?
