Well then judging by this, and the fact that you tried installing on 2 different systems, I'd say your CD got damaged (scratched most probably).

Try copying all the files from your CD to your hard-disc. If some cannot be copied it means most probably your CD *is* damaged. Then your best chance is taking it somewhere where they repair scratched CDs and see if it can be done, or buy one of those CD repair kits...

The CD repair kits are nice, actually now I remember my IWD CD was scratched in several places and I used the Game Dr. on my CD before doing the install. Not that I know the missing text was a result of a damaged CD but it does make sense since it is not a problem that happens often. I have only had text dissappear once and I fixed my CD and did a reinstall.
