I think the subject line speaks for itself. so beyond how wisdom affects other classes, does wisdom affect the monks differently? since monks are very spiritual, i thought that maybe wisdom gives them some bonuses.

None whatsover. Wisdom only affects spellcasters.

AFAIK it affects saving throws also... but I havent noticed any difference when I tried it.

having wisdom of 15+ does give a small saving throw bonus. not sure what areas or how much, but it does. so shame on you powergaming 3-wisdom fighter-types! shame!

In PnP a high wisdom confers a bonus called magical defense adjustment to any saving throw against a mind affecting effect.
Unnaturally high wisdom even grants complete imunity to some spells.
I do not think that this happens in BG however.

Immunity no, better saves yes.
