I'm sure just about every thing has been used on the sand piles - they don't do anything. Since they are identified as being there you would expect that you might be able to do something with them but I've never heard of anyone being successful with them.

Alz, who was one of the programmers on W&W and who would sometimes visit this board, has told us a lot about the things that were eventually omitted from the game. I think he once mentioned the sandpiles and what they should have been used for - but I am not sure.

THESE SANDPILES ARE NOT USELESS!!!!!!!!!!

When i continue playing W&W again i will find a solution to these sand piles.

Maybe you can melt them and turn them into glass ( i doubt it )

Maybe you can dig them up with an item of some sort ( possibly )

Maybe we should mention ' sand piles ' to Oakenmir or someone ( i'm sure he won't know )

Maybe there is an item that u can put water in and then use teh item filled with water on teh sand piles ( that's a good 1 )

What if we use a Vial of Holy Water on it. That would make it melt away wouldn't it.

Once at the beginning, once when you get the mavin, once at the end. Then the final bedtime ending. Hmmm, I do seem to remember more - at least it feels that way. But I can't put my finger on any others. Wait! placing the heart in the black fire, oh and the mavin too. More? Help!

like i said it is absolutely impossible but i can remember some more.

When you walk near the spire ( near Torin )

When you enter the Boogre Mound. ( the lovely aroma of cooking ( or something like dat) )

Come close to the fallen wall of Shurgeon castle

Going down the stairs to the entrance of the crypt

When you see the statue of kerrah in the crypt
( the 1 that opens teh gate )

Well i got alot of maybes in my head but i'm not sure so keep thinking.
