have you ever had a battle that you've just felt lucky to have won? i thought my team was a bit lucky to beat the warden in the astral plane or wherever it was - when he sent in a group of umber hulks against my already weakened team i thought i was soon to be dead but somehow my team fought back enought to win through - also the battle for the staff of the magi (rune quest is it?) - i managed to do that with a level 12ish party, which i now appreciate is a particularly flukey result - i only suffered one death in that, which is not too bad. anyone else been amazed to pull off a victory when it seems so unlikely?

Well, I was pretty amused when I for my first time beated Firkragg without cheating or shadowkeeping.
And also when I beated Irenicus for the first time.

see ya!

My luckiest victory was against Firkraag. I spent the requisite time casting Aid, Bless, Defensive Harmony, haste, summon etcetera. Surrounded him so he couldn't hit everyone at the same time and had the summoned intiate the attack, Edwin and Aerie casting lower resistance, Jaheira and Vic casting Insect plague. Then I had my Kensai move in. He had the Vorpal Blade and killed Kraggy on the first hit. All that preperation and psyching up, heh, it was rather anti-climactic.
