HoW near the end

I think I'm near the end of Heart of Winter. Just moving from an area with the body of a large frozen dragon. Help!!! I can defeat the various enemies and the three water spirits but can not open the gate to the area just past the large diamond. My thief can not pick the lock and the knock spell seems useless. How do I proceed from here.

Your post was a little unclear as to which specific level of the Temple of Icasaracht you are in, but it sounds like level 3. [The level with the dragon body was level 2]

...... then you just finished up a rather large battle against a number of enemies among whom was a sahuagin prince. The prince should have been carrying a plain key which is what you'll need to open the gate to the next level. Search the area for any piles of loot you might have missed as the key will probably be among one of those piles.

Good luck and let us know how you make out with the last parts of the game.

One more thing, go back to the fish priest and rest before entering the gate. It is good to have all your spells and health before entering.
