Quoted from the article,

"For many years, social conservatives have claimed that marriage exists solely for the purpose of procreation ... The time has come for these conservatives to be dosed with their own medicine," said WA-DOMA organizer Gregory Gadow in a printed statement. “If same-sex couples should be barred from marriage because they can not have children together, it follows that all couples who cannot or will not have children together should equally be barred from marriage."

http://www.nwcn.com/statenews/washin....546c6a4d.html

I think this is self-explanatory. The law proposal is basically saying that since heterosexuals want to claim that the only reason we get married is to procreate and thus those that cannot (or will not) should not be allowed to marry since it meets no logical end.

Its a very smart counter-move from this guy: http://www.michaelhanscom.com/eclect...nitiative-957/

I don't support i-957 nor do I support homosexual marriages but I do give credit to Michael for coming up with a brilliant counter-plan to force the courts to consider re-wording the reason they have on the books as to why marriages have to be between a man and woman only.

Indeed, it's brilliant as anything. I'd love to see them come up with a reason that's not grounded in religion.

So would I, but since it's largely just that, it may be time for some of those laws to come off the books. What would be really interesting is to see how many marriages would be voided, if such a measure could get passed. Personally, I'd like to see it get passed. I'm not against gay people having the same rights as other citizens. If being different is what qualifies them for discrimination, when do we go back to racial discrimination?

Yeah, agreements are the horsemen of the Apocalypse... I actually think this initiative sounds good. Will probably result in less divorces.. .

Same here. And Purple, don't want you to burst a blood vessel but I agree as well.

Sorry if this post causes a singularity event.
