After over a year of development, the playable demo of Glory of Istar, (Dragonlance TC for Baldur's Gate 2) has been released!
This demo brings you the opening chapter of a whole new Infinity Engine game set in the lavish world of Krynn! Baldur's Gate 2 and the Throne of Bhaal expansion (with the latest patch) are required to play Glory of Istar, but the storyline is unaffiliated with either. The final game is intended to be around the size of BG2: Shadows of Amn. The demo release includes the opening chapter of the main storyline, offering several hours of playing time. In addition to large quests and intrigue, many of the traditional rules and systems used in the game have been changed to provide a fresher roleplaying experience. You will encounter brand-new NPCs as you navigate tense local politics and unravel the mysterious motives of rival factions. The Infinity Engine rules have been streamlined to better suit the Krynn universe, with exciting enhancements to gameplay that will appeal to any experienced D&D player. Glory of Istar brings you: - A whole new game set in the Dragonlance universe! - New and unique features such as feats, subraces, deities, new playable races, and an all-new spellcasting system. - Numerous quests set in beautifully rendered, completely original areas. - New, multifaceted NPCs, with extensive dialog and voicing. - A new music score composed especially for the TC. - And, yes, kender and their pilfering ways. The Glory of Istar website, which offers download mirror links and an in-depth look into the game's development process, is located at: http://www.dragonlancetc.com/ The support forum can be found at: http://www.dragonlancetc.com/forums/ Head over, join the DLTC community, and grab the download! Istar awaits!

There should be no problems installing the demo over the Baldurdash fixpack.

It is effectively a new game with its own storyline, so no, it is not compatible with BGT.
If you are interested in playing both, I suggest considering multiple installations.

It looks quite promising. Can you elaborate a bit more about the 'making of' Allivad? What does it involve? IEE? Shadowkeeper? Or do you need some hyper-advanced programming knowledge to make these kind of mods?

I'll quote the readme on the range of tools we used in creating DLTC:
DLTCEP - http://www.dragonlancetc.com WeiDU - http://www.weidu.org IETME - http://www.teambg.com BAMWorkshop - http://www.teambg.com WinBiff - http://www.teambg.com Near Infinity - http://www.idi.ntnu.no/%7Ejoh/ni/ TISPack Vorbis OGG Converters Avenger's XP Patcher It doesn't really take any programming knowledge, however, and the majority of modders are not programmers (of course, tool development is a separate issue).

Having helped make it kinda denotes playing through it, so yes, I have. So have around 10 beta testers, so I don't imagine it's particularly buggy.
