i honestly dont know but rumor says that they were probably paid off by rival politicians just to discredit the President integrety in handling the affairs of the country.

to make the story short, the president "might" be planning to run for re-elections and some people want to prevent her from winning the election by discrediting her against the people to vote for her.

another is.. what the military is doing..they are on strike but with a show of force.. and have arms as well..

i just hope it wont be bloody..

The latest I heard on the radio was that they where trying to get the story out that some members of the Philippine government and some of the armed forces where involved in *fake* terrorist bombings to get financial aid from the USA. Much in the same way Russia has been blamed for some of the bombings in Russia to justify the crackdown on Chechnya. The story went on to say that it was not a coup attempt or anything else but to get the world press to look into the corruption of the Philippine government and there involvement in the *terrorist* bombings. That is why they did such a public thing. They must have some good reason to do what they did.

I have heard that the Australian ambassador has been released

They surrendered. They surrendered, yeah! Surrendered, surrendered, the thing's over, yeah! No more hostage situation in the mall... surrendered, gave up.....

Edit: I just heard that the five top leaders of the soldiers were arrested.

well, they surrendered indeed. what the president said was that only the five involved will take full consequences of their actions...

lots of issues to be resolved... like their benefits (job), the selling of ammo to the rebel groups (some inside job), the davao bombing and more.

the government will be investigating this whole thing... there was no bloodshed, and it got solved before the day ended. yeah.

it sucks no more hark! oh and btw, we just bought a new tv. we are already getting that satellite thingee...
