Heh. Powerful, but 3/4 of what makes him powerful are buffs and equipment, not the class per se. I'd say that a level 40 (even level 30) mage *could* easily kick the ass of a level 40 barbarian, though the terrain and circumstances will influence this. Cloak of cheating greatly unbalances this. Then again, with the proper spells memorized, hypothetically this could happen:

1. Cast Absolute Immunity
2. Cast Time stop
3. Cast Lower Resistance x2 (will affect as is is not classified as damage)
4. Cast Time stop again
5. Cast Abidalzims 2x (AOE spells will affect you)
6. Cast time stop again
7. cast Abidalzims

Keep doing until you die.

Of course, you could always swallow a potion of invisibility and attack me before I knew you were there. But then again, I could always have a stoneskin cast and then cast True Seeing once you attacked and became visible.

Then again, you could cast Protection from Magic and whup my ass.

See how this gets circular?

There's no such thing as a *best* class IMHO - it's what you like the most and can buff up the most.

But, that's just my opinion, let's see what others think!

But what Memmnoch is saying is that any character at level 40 and with good equipment would be really good. If you got a level 40 monk or kensi with good gear you would probably find that it would be better than you Barbarian.

Maybe so but a barbarian would kill you before you could cast those spells!
Takes 9/10 of a round to cast that first spell!

Yer but it wouild take quite a while to get 2 level 40 and then to duelclass to a mgae and get 2 level 41 so you could actually lose your barbarian skills.
