I remember that day well and because the challenge was laid down by the topic poster I will bore you all with the details .

I was studying for the last important subject of my first year Engineering exams (Dr Doom's Electrical 101) and hoping that I had scraped good enough marks in the horror 2 x 3 hour maths papers that examined the whole 12 months of first year that I had sat the day before. Poor marks would have meant I was unable to transfer to a better University and study Chemical Engineering and would have consigned me to a poorer life as (ugh) a Mechanical Eng.

The Electrical 101 was the last tough one for me. With the Berlin Wall coming down and friends in town I did all my study for the final exam (Physics) at the local casino. I got so blind and won so much money that night - fantastic, and they had a huge wall TV that was showing scenes from the Wall. I fronted for the 8am physics exam after leaving the casino at 5am. I looked at the questions, stayed the minimum 20 mins and left. I used the 20 mins to write an apology to the lecturer for wasting his time and explained that I had decided not to attempt to improve my existing grade (Distinction) due to a freak case of alcholic poisoning.

I was 26 and a bit.

I was in Germany too, Stationed at DARBY Kasserne in Nurenburg, I was watching AFN and thinking "WOW, Is this really happening?"
none of us there could believe what was happening after being there for three years training for the day the borders opened with explosions instead of peace.........I left Germany the same day that Check Point Charlie was loaded onto the truck to go to the Smithsonian.......Hard to believe It was that long ago.

That day was a wonderful day. I was 17 and about to graduate. My Mom was still alive then and I was holding a 3.8 GPA for the first time with perfect attendance. I was fretting over an essay I had to write for a teacher that had a preconcieved ideal about me because my stoner brother had her a year before me. She had slammed most of my other papers but she couldnt get me on the regular tests and pop quizzes. Also with this paper I had to do an oral presentation about a subject, any subject , but it had to educate the class room in some way. In my arms was a shadow box with some minatures I had panted and some that I hadnt as well as some paint and brushes. The minatures were a success as well as my speech and the essay got me an irefutable "A" she was shocked!! Also on this day I was thinking of asking a certain girl out that I had know for a little over a year and just couldnt ask her the question. The day was great, going well and then lunch time came. We were talking about the "Wall" and what it meant to all of us. It was a good day and a good time. I set a school record in weight lifting that day as well, for teenagers weighing under 160 lbs and under. I bench pressed 350 lbs. Wasnt to bad for a non jock But any who, I cant believe it has been 15 years, Wow!! time fly's when your having fun.

I was starting first grade in Peterborough, England. It was such a bad area, I hated every minute of it. It was violent, crime-ridden, polluted, and just repugnant in every way. Two years later we moved to Holland, where the good (read: high) times began.

What do you do? I work in a hospital now.

Anyway, I was 13 years old. I remember watching it on the news, knowing it was a really big deal, but not fully comprehending what an event it truely was.
