but how do life with a rack?
i really can't use them, actually i hate them unimaginably, i like my keyboard and mouse on the top of the desk, nice and level.

dirty? the mouse is pretty clean, this keyboard is okishly clean, i did take good care of my wireless black keyboard untill i spilt a drink into it (yeah i guess i can see the purpose of that rack), this is an old noisy, dodgey one where the keys sound like buttons with a loud "click" as you press them, i think i'm going to get a new keyboard, for only $12AUD they are disposable.

My keyboard is filthy underneath the keys, from all the loose hair getting down inside of it, I'd have to pluck out every individual key just to get the thing cleaned. My mouse I clean with alcohol wipes when it starts sticking, but as for my keyboard, I just take a can of compressed air to it whenever I feel like it

Dirty. I clean then when I'm procrastinating and really can't find anything else to do.

...Although I just looked at the bottom of my optical mouse, and it's not a pretty sight.

But I'm pretty much the only one who uses my computer, so any germs on it are mine and mine alone. I also don't eat over the keyboard, and I put the screen down when I'm not using it, so it's not too dusty/scummy.

It's clean. I always wipe it after I use it. But my sister never does. She just left it dirty. She didn't even wipe the chocolate stain on it.

That is nasty, Megabot! I just did the same thing to mine... and then I had to rearrange my desk to scrape off all the junk that fell out

I generally don't clean my keyboard, and you can tell by looking which keys I hit most often. I have switched over to optical mice so I wouldn't have to clean them, but I still have to clean the... sliding feet, or whatever you want to call those hard plastic pads on the bottom. They accumulate junk something fierce

Keyboards are a great place to store snacks. Just turn it over and tap it on the desk top, all kinds of thing fall out: cracker crumbs, bitd of candy, mouse droppings. Careful selection can produce a nice snack without going to the frig.
