In Diablo 2, you could put a -w after the quotes in your startup shortcut to play in a window, but I think that may have been a proprietary thing from blizzard.

I'd say, send a question into Sir-Tech and ask them. I've never tried.

Have you tried going into the shortcut properties and checking to play in a window instead of full-screen? I know there are some people who have indicated it is possible to play from a window but I believe they were all running VERY high-end machines that could take the extra processing needed to do that.

Well i am running a pretty good system, I guess it could be considered High End.
AMD 1700 XP Processor
256MB DDR RAM
40GB 72K RPM HD
GeForce3 TI 200
Windows 2000

I try to keep one notch under the latest hardware

The truth guys i really only want to play in a window because my girl is living out of state now and she likes to chat online with me in the evenings after i get home from work.
Now thats cool i want to chat with her too, but c'mon i dont want to stop playing WIZARDRY. I only have so much free time so if i can like play wizardry and preted to be having a conversation with her (actually just typing "ya" "sure" "iknow what u mean" "well" and the occasional sentence).
By the way i love this game
I errrrrrr.... love my girl too i guess
hmmm.... i wonder if i can put her in a window instead??

hey, my bf and i do the same thing!
you don't need a window. we don't.

first of all make sure you set up your im service so that incoming msgs flash the toolbar or make a sound (much more annoying, believe me).

then you will get a flicker in your screen, with the toolbar usually showing thru. alt/tab outta the game. it does alt/tab very nicely!

also, if you can't see the toolbar, then move it to the top of the screen instead of the bottom like normal. it will prolly show thru most of the time that way, and you will see your message flash on it.

i must say, it works very nicely. we play games and talk to each other every night for hours. once in awhile one of us has to reboot, but not very much.

give it a go. it will keep your mind and soul very happy.

thats a good suggestion vesselle
ive actually done that before by accident where i am online and then go play wizardry and forget to disconnect
then someone IM's me and i have to alt-tab out
but there has to be a better way u know
cuz alt tabing every few sentences is kinda annoying
i would think
