They're all dead now, too, aren't they? Think about it...

Back then, people didn't live long enough to worry about things like cancer.

I've been offered a job which involved removing asbestos on numerous occasions, all to a payment that would triple my salary of that time, and i politely told them to shove that job where the sun don't shine.

Asbestos? On the ceiling of my school. Apparantly, it's safe unless disturbed (they're replacing the ceilings anyways though) but you know what kids with pencils and a good ceiling leads to.

Provided you don't inhale any fibers it's all good. But the problem lie's in when the fire-retardant (sp?) asbestos ceiling tiles get older fibers begin to flake off, then they get sucked into air-ducts, etc. You all can do the math from there. A lot of schools in the States (and probably other countries) had asbestos ceiling tiles. From what I can remember from health class in 9th grade there was a huge project somewhere (details lost to time) to change out a ton of asbestos ceiling tiles to something less unhealthy.

Anyways just got finished watching the newer Peter Pan (something like 2 years old now I think) again. Still loving it. More for the music than anything else though. Only depressing thing being that I'm chillin alone tonight. Movies are always more fun with friends. Ah well, nows a time to be happy, I got paid . Drinks are on me!!

Err that is I'm paying for them, that's not an invitation to dump your drinks on me. hehe

They test the asbestos level in the air every summer, I believe and it's at safe levels, so nothing really to worry about yet.

edit- bluh... can't spell.

How long does it take before the cancer kicks in? I used to machine asbestos for the wire guides on shrink-wrap packaging machines in the early 80's. We used air hoses to blow the powder off the Bridgeports and then swept it up with a broom.

What is "the bill" ? Is that something that covers all monthly expenses in Iceland ?
