well, it all starts in a few weeks, and i was just curious on other peoples opinions about who will be the next world champions. Personally i think france and argentina have the best teams, but i'll be cheering for england since holland are no contenders (which is a bloody shame btw )

Well I really hope that England gets nowhere fast - nothing I hate more than the streets full of St George's flags and the sound of people yelling 'Eng-er-land, Eng-er-land' at 2am in the morning I'll happily cheer on someone else though LOL.

No, because I've seen people get beaten up on the street for not being English.

well, i think we (argentina) are going to be the champions if fifa doesnt f*** us up like they did in america '94...

italy and france are my other 2 candidates. i think brasil will flop miserably and spain and england always reach the quarters and then chicken out. my surprise candidate for the semis is ireland. a very good and very tough team to beat. the organisers (japan and corea) will barely make it the 8ths if they do at all.

oh, as an anecdote, im going to watch the england vs argentina game in the first round with a very fanatic english friend of mine (plus 2 more args and a couple spanish). its going to be fun!

thats it i guess.

Well I was, and now I'm hungover, but that is still my view when sober lol! Unfortunately a small minority of thugs spoil it for the rest of us. I also don't like seeing English fans rampaging across the world spreading destruction in their wake (again a tiny minority).

Are you referring to Maradona being banned for using doping?

Of course he should be banned - as shall anybody else that using performance enhancing drugs.

"Hand of God" - my foot (just my opinion of him)

EDIT: And of course I'll be cheering for Denmark
