Newbie

I am just starting a NWN nights game(for the first time) and wonder if there any mods, patches etc, that I should know about, I have chosen a monk for my first run thru.

Use the update button when it loads this should give you most of the patches. If you perfer you can download patches here:

There are tons of mods some of them good some of them not so good. I recommend trying Undermountain it is more like a persistant world than a mod but fun. I will let others provide details on mods as they may make recommendations on which current ones to try.

I will say there is so much to do and try that NWN is one of the few games I have not taken off my machine as when I get bored of something I can always come back to this and try something new or different. Possibly one of my best purchases.

Well so far I am loving it altho it is taking a little time to get used to the "controls",oh as an aside can you arm your henchmen with anything other than the weapon they are using ie from melee to ranged and if so, how?

you can't change the equipment of your henchman in the official campaign, you can only talk to him and tell him to use ranged or mellee.

You can access henchman inventory (and change it) in the expansions SoU and HotU. Do you have those?

Not yet but I am planning on getting them if I continue to enjoy playing, and i will need to try the change of tactics but there does not seem to be that option when I speak to him(forgive my naivety).
