Just take a multiclass ranger/cleric. I can understand taking a high dc with fighters so as to get Grandmastery, but rangers can only get 2 PP in each weapon anyway. It would give you guaranteed decent level clerical spells at every stage of the game.

just a couple of questions ive been wondering about.

1. In an effort to down the micromanagment of continous bard singing i turned on the "singing bard" script. The problem with this is that i cant get my bard to sing WCotS.I thought i would have been able to choose the song that i want her to sing but she keeps changing back the the Song of the Kaudies. is there anyway i can change the song that is continously played?.

2. I have Aurils Bane mod installed at the moment and in the crypts of upper Dorns Deep i found a ring named the Travellers Ring, its statistics are unknown even when identified, what the hell does it do?.

3. At the moment I've just cleared out the Wyrms Tooth salamanders and about to go find Joril. Now i havent played the game in a while but i seem to be quite a low level for the part of the game im in, i was just wondering what the rest of you thought.

5 x fighter = 10
bard = 12

cheers

1) Sorry, I don't know the answer to that
2) Ditto. Save before you try it...
3) It's about right for normal difficulty. Have you been doing all the quests? (Bandoth, for example?)

A data point for you to help with 3.: At the end of DE, you should have about 650K points TOTAL, plus any camping you've done.

Aerich,

I've put the ring on and from what i can tell i cant see any changes in my character's stats at all. hopefully grog will have a look into this and he'll be able to tell me.

Just a question, Bandoth is the guy in UDD who wants the ravorine extract isnt he? ive got the goods but i havnt given it to him yet. I also havnt helped the garderner in Severed Hand but i cant be bothered going back there yet.

Just dualed all of my characters, im currently camping in DE 3(on HOF mode) to gain a few levels, pretty easy considering each cold wight gives 7800 exp each!.

Yes, that's Bandoth. He also sells scrolls. You can also kill him for a little extra xp after the quest. He's pretty surly, so it's easy to pick a fight.

The last three (of four) quest items for the gardener in the SH aren't found until Lower Dorns, so you probably wouldn't be at a point to fulfill that quest yet anyway.

DE lvl 3 is a good place to test out spells, as well. Experience in XP camping has helped me to almost exactly "eyeball" area of effect spells.

Funny, I went through DE lvl 3 on HoF mode a couple weeks ago, and it was probably even easier XP for me than it is for you. My lvl 28 paladin has about 75% of the kills on HoF from walking through the Vale of Shadows and DE lvl 3 exploding all the undead with awesome turning power.

Yes, TOTAL = about 650K for a normal game with no camping; as in about 108K per character in a party of 6. Mystique, the character I used to measure this, had 110K at the end of DE. She missed about 4 or 5 nice fights on the last DE level (she did NOT miss the final battle), which was partially offset by maybe 5 camping-induced encounters on DE1 (party was trying to regain spells and HP). The party camped on DE3 long enough to get 10K XP per character, to level the "hireling" Thief whom I needed for the last level of DE. But the hireling was using Mystiques' party slot; so her numbers were not skewed by this exercise.

well i went and talked to Bandoth but when i did he said "not you again!" as if i had already been there which i had not. i tried for a while to make him ask me to do a quest for him or ask for the razorvine extract but he wouldnt. he wouldnt sell scrolls either.

Right now im camping on DE 3 to get all my characters levels up to a point where they can survive Lower Dorns Deep + working on spell combinations and all that.

I think you need to ask him about the razorvine before you actually get it.

Yeah, that's a bit of a bug. If you get the quest item before talking to him, he doesn't want it. Doesn't matter, it's not worth a major amount of XP.
