okay, i find this annoying, I am currently transfering data from one Pc to another using a wireless router and adaptor. I have made several attempts but always at certain points some of my file transfers keep getting interrupted causing me to start the transfer all over again (I am transfering 1.5 gig of data at a time). I made no sure no microwaves or any other signals get in the way but it happens time and time again. Is there any software that will allow you to resume File transfer for PC to PC?

or any hints to maintain a stable wireless connection?

During that time, what is your connection strength?

I have the same problem (data stops sending, which causes file transfers/online games to go off). When I posted a thread about it a few months ago, someone suggested something like this:

from green drops down to no connection instantly .. and just reconnects itself. Perhaps its a device somewhere inteferes with the connection once in like 10 mins. But still interupting my transfer for even less than a second disrupts it entirely.

I definatly know where you're coming from, exactly the same thing happens to me. Is the router far away from the PC, so it could just be on the brink of connectivity when it drops?

I asked this question a few months ago, got this as a reply:
(Note: This isn't the exact thing you need, just an example of it)

Plug, install, go. Would have bought some myself if I had the cash.

Hmm... Several times I have accidentally knocked the ethernet cable out of my laptop while in a video conversation online, and quickly plugged it back in without disrupting the call. And yet your wireless completely disrupts the transfer.

And that's why I'm so glad I have ethernet now.

i dunno could be.. i mean there are several wireless connection in the apartment and one could interupt another perhaps. There are too many variables that can distrupt it.. sigh well eventually I was able to transfer it. in the middle of the night. So that problem resolved for now.

Cables. More secure, faster, and less prone to interference. And, contrary to popular opinion, they go through walls without a problem. At least, they do if the person installing them has a power drill. YMMV.
