ok.... Is it a good idea to change roles often, or is it better to stick with one role. EXAMPLE: i have a barbarian, should i change his role to paladian? or any other role. Is it a good idea to change any of my other characters roles as well after i gave them a more elite role? Good or Bad idea? Advantages n Disadvantages?
Thanks |

Generally speaking, it is more adventageous to change roles often. You will get more trait, skills and HP in the long run if you do this. However, there's nothing preventing you from keeping one character in one class for any lenght of time.
If you want some basic ideas, refer to the Best Tips tread as it contains a ton of valuable information on this topic. Good luck |

I agree that it is a good idea to change roles but I have found that it is better to do this after your character has reached at least a level 6-8 before doing this.

One last thing. If you plan on taking a magic user to another role, make sure you have at least obtained all the spells you want in a specific realm.
For exemple: Don't change your wizard to a samourai before you have obtained level 7 stone spells. Sun spells aren't an issue because samourais have sun magic. I'm sure you get the picture. Good luck |

It all depends on what you want to do. I changed my dwarf warrior to a barbarian at level 2 and left him there. My wizard went through a total of 4 roles. It also depends on what you're changing from and to. For example, a ranger is not a good one to stay as because their abilities are fairly limited, they use bows really well. That's about it. However, it is a good one to go through for say a paladin because then you have a paladin who can attack from a distance as well as wade through enemies in melee combat. A Ninja is a good one to keep so you can keep enhancing their abilities.
Another thing to consider is specialization and generalization. A specialist in any skill (thievery, ranged weapons, a particular book of magic, etc.) has advantages because then you are very good at one particular thing and when you do that, there's nothing to stop you. As a generalist, you have access to many different skills but you aren't exceptional at any one thing, you're reasonably good at everything. A sort of "jack-of-all-trades." In your particular case, I would change your barbarian into something else but as for what, that's up to you. Hope this helped! -Jafin |

I suggest to train your characters a bit before starting the game. The training solves some unnecessary problems like Amazoni Mantraps, lava pools, bad skill values and so on. If you decide for training (for example, do the Crypt several times before setting off) then do not forget that Reset Adventures clears all inactive roles - you can gain a particular role again later if you want.
If you decide for training, then: a) You can be a generalist and you can still have acceptable values for all required skills - train in the guilds. b) Change roles often. This keeps your level low and allows you to gain levels fast, i.e., you will have a lot of opportunities to train in the guilds. c) Secure some HP and the Athletics skill for your wizard. Turn him into a Barbarian for a while then return to a Warlock. Your wizard stops to be the one who is killed/drowned/etc. permanently. It is always correct to leave the base roles. The elite roles have better abilities. |

example...if i have a barbarian, and i change him into a paladian, is it posssible to return to babarian? Not that i'd probably do that, but generally speaking, can i return to a previus role? |
