Really? Hmm - I guess I go the opposite way (Thus I also do graphics in the order of: Icons, spells/effects, then combat sets, then small pictures, backdrops, walls, and sprites (not a single sprite done yet).)

I like the size of the 3Dview-window. And I am also impressed by the furniture.

What about big pics, will there be any?

There will be big pics. I had a couple I was working on, but that was before I changed to the higher resolution, so I'll be starting over on those. They weren't 3D, so I don't how easy it will be to use what I have and expand or edit them.

I generally start with small pics and sprites, unless there are not any appropriate walls/backdrops. This time there were none, as I was starting with a brand new viewport size.

Uatu, a simple enuff way to do a sprite with the crossbow gnome would be to resize the original size gnome (and flip the pic for the mid range to fake the walking animation).

PS, however you obviously don't shortcut your art, and so you might come up with a better way

A sprite is just a small pic without the background. And then another smaller pic without even more background. and then a really small pic without a whole lot background.

The thing is, sizing is pretty difficult to get right for sprites (icons are quite easy - just remember, 48 pixels = 6 feet). Sprites have three distinct sizes, each with different foot placements, and all that... Arrgh... Still haven't decided on a method to do them yet...

As long as your sprite is as high as a human, you only need to make sure that the eyes are somewhere in the center of the viewport.
Certainly giants, dwarves and so on are more difficult. For example, an oger with around double height of a human should always have the lower belly in the center of the viewport... (It is always the rule of three )

It's not hard, it's just more fun. Sometimes a lot more fun.
