I'm considering playing one and would like to know what others who have played this class think of it, pros/cons.

I think you'll have more luck at the ToB forum

Waste of Time. just like all other mages, but they also get random effects that always end up slowing my chars or something. i have _never_ had a good result froma wild surge.

If you want info on these Wild Mages Go to the ToB forum. Well, Wild surges have random effects some of these effects help you, some of them gives you problems. Overall, Wild mages are defenatly similar to other mages out there..

Lazarus...You need to get rid of your sig. as it is causing Forum trouble. Please do so before a moderator ends up stumbling across it...
because some people have been warned previously about this same thing.

Delete it, then ask the forum advisors for help in stationing a legal signature from a site that would not constitute bandwidth theft.

Edit...I see that you did so, even before I finished typing this...
I hope this post was not offensive, as I was only attampting to help explain the problem.

I think you're just better off sticking with a pure mage. At least then you know what you're dealing with. I think wild mages are more trouble than they're worth

You can play as a wild mage if you have
ToB installed. I tried one in Irenicus's
dungeon but I didn't get to far before
I realised that those random effects can
screw you up.
