As for us bombing Afghanistan back to the stoneage....ummm we were bombing mostly mountain cave systems and rugged terrain enclaves. We were not bombing cities and residential/industrial areas.

Not saying he's not doing some good----but I question if he's working for 'world peace' or for 'American peace'/'American votes'. I suppose it's all the same in the end if it rids the world at large of known terrorists, but IMO, his motives are a little suspect *for this specific purpose*.

Bush nominated for the Nobel peace prize? LMAO! That's a good one! Destroying Afghanistan, killing dozens of people, and then the guy gets nominated for "outstanding input to bring peace to this world". Hilarious!

I don't say that they don't deserve the peace prize, I guess that's just a question of how you look at it..
But I can think of several people who I think deserve the prize more than they!

Everyone who says that Bush destroyed Afghanistan needs to take a hard look at the counrty before we bombed. The country was allready a wasteland. Bush is doing a great job with the war. If anyone here
is opposed to disposing of terrorists I don't know what to tell ya. And remember there is no peace without war.

yep, i read this one before. http://www.snopes2.com/rumors/nobel.htm

as funny as the thought of bush getting the peace prize is, i dont think it is going to happen. btw, the new nominators (this nesvik guy) belong to the neonazi party of norway. yep, you read correctly. the neonazis are proposing bush for the nobel peace prize.

now, THAT is ironic.

Actually, you're right, you are bombing a wasteland, but unfortunately, as in all war situations, there are some mishaps, such as friendly fire and in this particular war, I have seen photos of cities which have I think been mistakenly hit, and ruined.
Luckily this has occured in few cases.

I agree, but alot of people act like we destroyed a flourshing counrty. There are always accidents in war. I too am glad they were
kept to a very low number.

Actually, Magik and the others (Nick etc), before you jump to conclusions, read Exxon's post carefully first. All he says, LITERALLY quoted, is this:

But I know I wouldnt bomb an entire country back to the stoneage!

Now this DOES insinuate that he thinks Bush and Blair (not just Bush, read the topic title!) have in fact done so, but it DOES NOT state so outright. See, this is how people get started time and time and time again.... *sigh*

And yes, I am well aware that others in this thread HAVE in fact suggested that bombing back to the stoneage is an accurate description of what's going on in Afghanistan, but Exxon wasn't one of them.

I was directing my comments at anyone who might think we were bombing a flourishing counrty not just Exxon.
