Having seen Eric Johnson live, I would have to put in a vote for him.

Me me me ... but NO WAY. I have never really rated my guitar playing much. I do rate - Christy Moore, John Lee Hooker, B B King, and a load of folkies none of you will have ever heard of except maybe Martin Carthy.

Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Ian Moss. For those that dont know who he is he was a member of Cold Chisel who were a great Aussie band from the late seventies and early eightys.

Is any of them really the best? Different styles make it too hard to tell.Randy Rhodes, Hendrix, Van Halen, Robin Trower, Tommy Bolin,Eric Clapton, the list goes on, always someone new too
