I'm sure this has been asked before, but since everyone loves to share their opinions, what are some suggestions for an RPG comparable to BGII? I bought IWD Ultimate Collection but from what I hear it's a lot of hack and slash, not as immersive as BGII. Have I been spoiled by BG, or is it not too late to find a game that's just as awesome?

If you don't mind a little trip back in time (and a lot of hunting for it) I'd suggest PlaneScape:Torment if you haven't played it already. It has a truly immersive storyline. Also it is highly dialogue oriented. If you create and play your character the right way you may encounter very few battles. However the game is not devoid of combat in any way. I would also suggest the Fallout games 1 and 2 as you can you occasionally find them as a pair in bargain packages.

Oh yeah!!

Welcome to Ironworks!!

I agree. PS:T is one of the best games I have ever played. Get it now. Finish it. If you like BG II you should like this one too.

The best thing to do, really, is to try things out. You can never be sure of ANYTHING if you don't try things out yourself. Other people may like a game, while you think it sucks big time.

Alex Powers! Now *that's* a name. It's better than Max Power!

Now to answer your question... I, too, was disappointed by IWD after playing BG... I enjoyed the storylines and party banters, not the dungeoneering quite as much. So you should really check out Planescape, as mentioned above. And welcome to Ironworks.
