HELPPP!!!My computer is very strange. Whenever I turn it on (suppose I haven't been turning it on for a couple of moments, maybe after 1 or 2 hours) and start to use it (play a game or browsing the internet or whatever), then suddenly after approx. 15 minutes of using, my computer restarts by itself. And then, this is the most frustrating part: when my computer is trying to load WinMe (the time when you see the big Windows picture) it stopped loading! Then I have to turn off and turn on the computer manually. This time, when it is trying to load WinMe, it always brings me automatically to the part when you can choose 4 things, and number 3 is loading the 'safe mode'. I had to picked number 3, but instead of loading the safe mode, my computer restarts again!!! After it restarts and bringing me to the 4 options thing again, then I load the safe mod, but it restarts again!!! This thing happens over and over until I can safely load the safe mode. Then from the safe mode, I restart the computer automatically, and then finally, I can load the normal mode and use it for eternity!!! This thing always happens whenever I turn on the computer after a couple of moments of not using it.
Please help me...is this a hardware or software problem? Or is my computer being infected by somekind of virus. But I already tried to scan the computer with the latest virus definition (Dec 23 2003) and there's no such virus. Any idea?

it could be the HD... if you are able to log on, try running scandisk. see if it has bad sectors... that's what happened to my other HD when it conked out... it stopped loading and I could never get past windows loading screen...

Hmmm... it restarts after a few minutes of use, eh? Could be overheating... have you checked to make sure your fan and vents are clear, and there's not too much dust on the motherboard and other components?

I scanned one of my HD and I found about 32 KB of files located in the bad sector. Other HDs doesn't have bad sectors. Oh, man! I never put attention to this. Could this be the problem? What should I do? Should I move my OS to my other HD or do I need to format it? Or is there any other way to solve this problem???

I was once putting in a harddrive into it's barcket, it was a bit hard to fit in, so i forced it, yeah eventually went in ok. OK now test computer cool working loading os after like one second of reading from HD reboot. Eventually i worked out i jamed a wire in the bracket and forced it in cutting the plastic off the wire and short circuiting into the case. Embarassing but problem fixed.
In your case i would try backing up and reformatting, *shudder* windows me, anyway yeah backup and format, also when i format i usually re-partition so you might want to do that also especially if you have bad sectors, but it is pretty complicated to partition so maby just reformat.

Actually, my winme is installed in the HD that contains the bad sector. So I can't format it directly. Do I have to reinstall the winme by CD again and put it in the good HD and delete the winme at the bad HD? Or can I just copy and paste my winme to the good HD?
