Server Hard drive failing - bad sectors - All Money Raised! Thank You!!! Ordered HD!

I'm copying files now for backup, but can't copy the entire drive to another due to no other hdds with enough space.

The HD has been active 24/7 for years I believe, so I guess its time.

Bad sectors are a HUGE warning that Hardware failure is soon.

I chose the same size drive, a 500gb WD Black (its for 24/7 use too).

HATE asking, as everything was running so well. All I would need is $75.

don't need anything crazy.. don't need 1Terabyte but the drive is $65, and with tax and 2 day shipping or overnight, it'll be around $80.

Need this SUPER fast.. I will place the order TONIGHT if I can raise enough


Sorry about this everyone.. This is stressing me out to no end.

I HOPE the system doesn't crash again. I ran a program to 'block' the bad sectors, but that is only a VERY temporary solution. the drive is gonna die.

ANYone that can help, you are a godsend!!!!!

Bump! Need to raise it by sunday if poss so I can place the order early for monday. HD rebooted 2 times (server) today. All we need is $50. I'd pay for it if I had the $$, but we are broke due to medical bills. ugh......

I'm so sorry, Ziroc. I wish I could put the remainder on my credit card but we're at one of those "buy only necessary stuff" times now. Just like you, the bills are too high for me to do it and get away with it. I don't want to suffer my wife's wrath later. Good luck, man.

No worries Larry, I know exactly how it is... sucks and is stressful as hell..
I hope you and everyone here hurting will have a better future soon. Thats what I keep telling myself, but seeing the ecomomy as it is, I expect it to remain hard for a few years...
