What are the bottles and various things for

I bought the Diamond pack and am playing SoU. I am finding empty bottles and herbs and such. Are these to be mixed like in Wizardry or Ultima or what are they for? I can't find anywhere in the manual a referance.

They can be 'mixed' in a special place or two, yes. That's specific to the SoU module.
