When I hear the name Christian I always think of Christian Dailly and I'll give a coconut to anyone who knows who he is.

Doesn't that make it one first name, and two middle names?

To American ears, Jesus may seem odd simply because it's one Biblical name that never made it into common usage. On the other hand, there is nobody named Christian in South America...
And we don't have Y'shua, Yeshua or Yehoshua as names in English. His mother called him Yeshua or Y'shua I believe. But we DO have Joshua. Jesus and Joshua had the same meaning: "Salvation of Yahweh".

Regarding the double barrelled names, I once read that in the south, they double barrel first names - Mary-Sue, Billy-Bob, Peggy-Anne, etc etc.

In the North, they double barrell surnames: Ballentine-Jones, Rutherford-Smith, Wetherington-Cox, etc etc etc

Back to Joshua/Jesus, I had a quick sqizz at "babynames.com" http://www.babynames.com and they've listed the name Jesus origin as being SPAINISH! LOL Despite the very well known Greek translation it actually came from: Iesus. Very funny.

That's interesting about the scandinavian names. Thanks for that info. I didn't know all that. Cheers.
